Managing Director of Chemcolour Industries (NZ) Limited with over 35 years’ experience in the chemical industry in New Zealand, UK and Australia
Graduated with a Master of Science (Honours) in Chemistry from the University of Auckland
Worked for ICI for 10 years before joining Pine Chemicals NZ Ltd, a JV between Tasman Pulp & Paper and NZ Forest Products (Now Carter Holt Harvey), to establish a Tall Oil and Turpentine Manufacturing Plant
In 1989 established Chemcolour Industries, New Zealand’s leading specialty chemical company with facilities in Auckland, Palmerston North, Sydney & Melbourne
Murray is known to enjoy good wine in moderation

Ron Eddy
Managing Director – TimTech™ International Limited
Over 30 years experience in the timber protection industry
Graduated as an analytical chemist & registered assayer, has a postgraduate Diploma  in Management (Science & Technology) and holds a Master of Management (Strategy) from the University of Auckland
Joined South African subsidiary of Hickson International PLC in 1977 before transferring to Hickson New Zealand as Marketing Director in 1986 & Managing Director Koppers Hickson from 1989 - 1997
CEO of the NZ Institute of Management from 1997 to the formation TimTech Chemicals in 2001
Served the community as Secretary, Sergeant and 2000/01 President of the Rotary Club of St. John’s Inc
Awarded Pro Patria medal for operational service in the defence against terrorism.

Mike Brown

Over 35 years experience in the timber industry
Graduated from Birmingham University as Chemical Engineer with BSc Honours
Immigrated to NZ in 1974 & joined NZ Forest Products as Chemical Engineer in R&D Centre
Joined Rentokil Timber Preservation Ltd & progressed through managerial ranks to General Manager
Founded Chemicca Ltd in 1984 in competition to market leaders Hickson & Rentokil In 1987 Fernz Corporation purchased 25% of Chemicca & the remaining 75% in 1989.
Mike continued as General Manager until 1996
By 1994 he had branches in Australia, Malaysia & China reporting directly
Involved in treated timber marketing until formation of TimTech™ in 2001.

Brett Ellis
Director
Brett has over 20 years wealth of experience in all aspects of timber preservation, concentrating in particular on LOSP these last ten years

Over 50 years experience in all facets of Forestry, Timber and Timber Protection Industry in New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific
Joined Hickson Timber Impregnation NZ Ltd as Technical Trainee in 1960 and moved through all phases of the company’s operations before being transferred to Australia in 1995
In 1999 formed own business, West Hill Consultancy and was a preferred supplier to the Environmental Protection Authority
West is on the Board of the Forest Industry Training Association Board (FITAB) & is a member of the LOSP Treated Timber Association
Joined TimTech™ in November 2001.

Campbell Boyd
General Manager - Operations
Campbell has over 25 years experience in the timber industry
Graduated as a Chemical Engineer and has post graduate business qualifications
He joined Hickson Timber Protections and became Koppers Hicksons operations manager and subsequently was appointed as the General Manager
He has also been involved in timber import/distribution and in more recent years at Ahead Lumber sawmilling, export and wood protection
His experience is wide ranging covering project management, operations,quality and environmental management and general management to business development and systems development and implementation

Mark Fortune
General Manager - Sales & Services
Over 31 years experience in the pesticides / timber preservation industry
Graduated with a New Zealand Certificate in Science
Joined DSIR as an entomology technician before moving into R&D roles in ‘Blue Chip’ horticultural & agricultural companies Ciba-Geigy, Bayer & ICI
Joined Hickson Timber Protection in 1989 as Technical Services Executive
Joined TimTech™ Chemicals Limited as South Island Manager in August 2001
Received the NZ Institute of Management “Outstanding Achievement Award” in 2003
He has an excellent reputation for adding value to clients by optimising their chemical usage and processes.

Ian Coldicott
Territory Manager
Ian has over 25 years sales, operational, technical and management experience in the New Zealand forestry and timber industry
He holds the NZ Certificate in Forestry and has several management qualifications
He is well respected in the industry having gained valuable experience with NZ Forest Service, Timberlands, Tasman Forestry, Koppers-Hickson, Kop-Coat and Wrightson Forestry Services
Ian has a proven track record in identification, evaluation and implementation of new products and services, plus ‘hands on’ technical support for customers in the timber/forest industry. Includes training and evaluation of new technology

Neil Mora
Territory Manager
Neil has a chemistry background of 17 years, including analytical work with pesticides and water chemistry.
Graduated from the DSIR Water Quality Centre with a NZ Certificate in Science.
Joined Koppers Arch Wood Protection in June 2003 as a Customer Support Executive.
Joined AgriQuality in October 2005 and trained as an auditor of Quality Management Systems. A member of the forestry team his role included timber preservation plant compliance auditing; quality, health & safety and environment.
Represented the NZ Building Industry Federation on the Standards NZ technical committee for NZS 3640, “Chemical Preservation of Round and Sawn Timber.”
He has a working knowledge of the Resource Management Act and the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act, providing advice on legal compliance and from a best practice perspective.

Paula Fisher
Administration Manager








The timber industry is no stranger to Administration Manager Paula Fisher as she worked for Koppers-Hickson/Arch for 12 years
Paula has a sound knowledge of office administration with over 16 years experience in this field. She has valuable knowledge and understanding of the current HR legislation in New Zealand
Paula’s friendly, helpful nature is well known to many in the Australasian timber industry from her years of personal contact with them

Wally James
Operations Manager








Wally has over 25 years chemical production experience with much of it gained over his 16 years with Koppers Hickson/Arch Ltd & more recently with Primaxa Ltd, where he was Production Manager.
His valuable knowledge and experience adds to the over 200 years industry experience already within the TimTech management team.
Wally is committed to quality and is well known to many timber Treaters as an honest, nice guy who really knows his stuff. Treaters in the North Island will be seeing quite a bit of Wally as his duties also include sales & technical servicing.



Patrick King
Technical Services Executive
Pat King has a BSc Chemical Technology from the University of Waikato
He joined TimTech in 2006 after some 5 years ‘hands on’ experience in the building & construction industry
Pat is based in Mt Maunganui to provide technical support to treating companies
He will shortly be commencing a Master of Wood Technology degree through the University of Melbourne’s School of Forestry



John Thorpe
Market Development Manager
After stint in the Army John went to university and gained an Agg Science degree. He worked in the Timber Industry in South Australia before moving up north.
A change of direction saw John going into Pest Control and specializing in timber pests. John returned to University and undertook post graduate work in Urban Pest Management and Entomology.
John has written several manuals on termite control as well as timber preservation.
In 2005 John was contracted by AQIS to formulate a timber importation strategy for tropical timbers.
John was also a principal writer for Advanced Diploma in Wood Management course offered by CRC Wood innovations for the University of Melbourne.
He was employed by Osmose as Remedial Products Manager for 3 years before leaving to found his own company.
John has an in-depth knowledge of insecticides and insects and has a special interest in non heavy metal preservatives.

Joanne Wills
Accounts Administrator








Joanne joined TimTech™ Chemicals Limited in May 2005 as Accounts Administrator having completed a Diploma in Accounting through the Open Polytechnic.
Joanne previously held secretarial positions in the human resources, trading, insurance and banking sectors. From 1980 she had 20 years as a full-time “Mum” to her four children and regards this as the most challenging and rewarding work experience. During this time she served as a volunteer on community committees and boards.
In November 2005 she completed the New York Marathon with her husband and two daughters.



Sam Duo Ning
Accountant
Sam has a background in a wide range of industries, including importing/exporting, manufacture, education and software
He holds a Bachelor of Economics and completed his accounting studies at Massey University. He is a Chartered Accountant and MNZIM
He has over 12 years experience in accounting as well as being a master at Excel
He has a passion for effective, efficient modern management practises and accounting systems



Bridget Derham
Environmental Scientist
Graduated from the University of Plymouth with a B.Sc (Honours) – Environmental Science in 2000
Understands the Resource Consent process in New Zealand having previously worked for TimTech whilst on her OE November 2003 to August 2004
8 years experience in customer services / administration type roles.  Will be based in the Auckland Office to provide technical & environmental services to customers
